Waffle knit fabric is unique because of its textured weave. To prevent snagging and maintain the "waffle" structure, follow these care instructions

| Washing | Wash in cold water (30°C) on a gentle cycle. This preserves the waffle texture and prevents the cotton from tightening/shrinking. | Do not use hot water. Heat can cause the waffle weave to contract rapidly, shrinking the shirt size significantly. |
| Preparation | Turn inside out and ideally place in a mesh laundry bag. This prevents zippers or buttons from other clothes snagging the textured weave. | Do not wash with rough hardware. Avoid washing with open zippers or velcro, which can easily pull the threads of the waffle knit. |
